Getting to Know: The Resistance Revival Chorus

Posted by Greg on Jan 30, 2018 in Music

One of the breakout moments of Sunday’s Grammy was the emergence of the Resistance Revival Chorus who performed alongside Kesha as she delivered a career-defining performance of “Praying.” The collective, which launched in the summer of 2017, as a result of the Women’s March on Washington, has just launched their debut single, a re-recording of Lesley Gore’s feminist anthem “You Don’t Own Me.” The chorus, which features upwards of 50 women, recorded the song at NYC’s Reservoir Studios with Run the Jewels producer Little Shalimar. Accentuated by lead vocals from Abena Koomson-Davis and Meah Pace, the song is an absolute scorcher and a perfect beacon for the current #MeToo movement. Head to Spotify to listen.
