While we try not to be partial over here at SITH, when it comes to record labels, none are held in the esteem that we hold Bloodshot Records. The label that launched Whiskeytown, Old 97s, Robbie Fulks, Neko Case, Alejandro Escovedo and others, has done very little, if any wrong in its 20+ year history. Song of the Day: A Valley Son – “Warm Mexican Beer”

Let’s face it, it’s late April, so let’s welcome spring as much as we can. There’s no better song to do that with than the absolutely incredible “Warm Mexican Beer,” a hazy, humid and deeply affecting effort from this absolutely fantastic NYC outfit. This quartet is still new to the game (released their debut in 2017) but with a song this good, they’re destined for stadiums, magazine covers and hordes of ticket sales.
