If you see one movie this year make sure it is Give Me Liberty, the latest film from Kirill Mikhanovsky. Not sure who he is? No worries, he probably expects that. But after this film, you will most certainly know his name. Written by Mikhanovsky and Alice Austen and released via Music Box Films the film is complex, hilarious, infectious and completely unpredictable. What carries the film is its many moving performances and its novel use of comedy. Welps, a week-long vacation in Grand Teton National Park and more lingering health issues have kept us away from blogging as often as we’d like. A change is a coming. Michael Bunnell, executive director of the Coalition of Independent Music Stores (CIMS) announced his retirement today. Andrea Paschal, who has worked as general manager of CIMS for quite some time, will assume the role of executive director. Bunnell will continue as executive director until the end of 2019. Read more…
