Let’s face it, lists are stupid. They mean absolutely nothing. One person’s opinion is vastly different from another. Despite that very thought, every year I feel compelled to put together a list of my favorite films. Thanks to COVID and colon cancer, I was able to watch way more than most years. Some were released via film festivals and are still waiting a release, others spoke to me in ways that probably few critics agree with. But this is the list and so be it. We’ve been fortunate to see a lot of films this year due in large part to both COVID-19 and my personal battle with colon cancer. Since relocating to Orlando in 2011, we have become huge fans of the Tampa-based Gasparilla Music Festival. This weekend the concert festival is hosting a musical instrument drive at Sparkman Wharf as part of its Recycled Tunes program. Those that donate a gently used instrument will receive a free ticket to the 2021 Gasparilla Music Festival. The musical instrument drive benefits Hillsborough County schools. Read more…
