Song of the Day: Danny Ross – “The Son”

Posted by Greg on Jul 23, 2018 in Music |

As much of a quagmire as the Trump presidency has been, there have been surprisingly few protest songs released about said subject. Enter Brooklyn singer-songwriter Danny Ross. A former congressional staffer, Ross is actually quite well-versed in political matters. If anyone could and should write a protest song, he might arguably be the best candidate. Now a Forbes columnist and one-half of the synth-pop duo Babetown, Ross’ release “The Man” just might be the best thing he’s ever written. Ostensibly a look at Donald Trump’s younger years it is whip-smart, wickedly clever and quite entrancing.

Naturally, it’s our Song of the Day.
