DIME Partners With TBHEF For Songwriting Scholarships

The Detroit Institute of Music Education (DIME) has partnered with The Buddy Holly Educational Foundation (TBHEF) to allow students to participate in the TBHEF/SOLO Songwriting Week from May 21-26 in Lafayette, LA. Three more students are slated to participate in TBHEF/Solo Songwriting Week in September in Lubbock, TX. Songwriters participating in TBHEF/SOLO Songwriting Week include: Nick Lowe, Beth Nielsen Chapman, Louise Goffin, Jim Lauderdale, Marc Broussard, Dylan LeBlanc, Zachary Richard and Mark Meaux.

DIME was founded by Kevin Nixon and Sarah Clayman and was recently featured as one of Billboard Magazine’s annual Top Music Business Schools. In addition to an online school and the Detroit location, DIME also has a campus in Denver. DIME also owns Original 1265 Recordings, a Detroit-based indie label distributed worldwide by Caroline/Capitol Music Group. Artists on the roster include Wildflowers, Charity, APlus and American Idol veteran Jena Irene Asciutto.
