Song of the Day: Flagship Romance – “(Love Is) Running Me Ragged”
Maybe we’re biased because we call the Sunshine State home, but let’s face it some of our favorite bands and artists call Florida home. For starters, there’s the late-great Tom Petty, there’s perennial chart-toppers Matchbox Twenty, country superstar Cassadee Pope calls Florida home, as does Jake Owen. And that’s just the tipe of the iceberg.
Over the last half-dozen years though, one band has risen to the top of that list: Flagship Romance.
Though they actually call New Mexico home these days, the band got their roots in Jacksonville, FL. Now four albums into a career that happened almost by accident, Flagship Romance continue to be a band that demands wider attention.
Look no further than their latest single “(Love Is) Running Me Ragged.” Confident, sturdy and deeply affecting this is another timeless effort from a band who so far has done little wrong thus far in their career. From start to finish the song has passion, urgency and a vibe that invites hip-shaking and beer-swilling from the opening seconds. Need we say more?
Jordyn and Shawn Fisher are intrepid road warriors, logging nearly 180+ shows a year for the better part of the last 6-7 years. If they’re a new name to you, do yourself a favor and get out and see them live. They sure do sound great on a reecord, but hot damn, they sound even better live.
