Frankie Cosmos to Play at Bandcamp Oakland on Nov. 17
We are huge fans of Bandcamp and even bigger fans of Bandcamp’s new brick-and-mortar store in downtown Oakland. Since its debut (which we wrote about) the brick-and-mortar record store has had a series of live events and the latest is one worth your attention.
On Nov. 17, indie quartet Frankie Cosmos will be playing a free, invite only show live from Bandcamp Oakland. Additionally, the show will be filmed for Bandcamp’s upcoming video series.
So who is/are Frankie Cosmos?
Frankie Cosmos is the stage name of singer-songwriter Greta Kline, daughter of actor Kevin Kline and actress Phoebe Cates. She previously performed under the name Ingrid Superstar. To date, she has more than 30 releases under various aliases and is prolific as she is quirky. Her backing band includes synth wunderkind Lauren Martin, Luke Pyenson on drums and Alex Bailey on bass. Her fourth studio album under the Cosmos moniker, Close it Quietly, was produced alongside Gabe Wax, and damn is it good.
