Song of the Day: FLAX – “Language of the Birds”

It’s not exactly winter here in Central Florida, but being that most of the country has experienced winter to some degree, we thought we’d share a wintry effort from singer/songwriter FLAX, the recording moniker of New York City-born Sean Flax.

“Language of the Birds” has a vibe that marries Peter Bradley Adams with Bon Iver and hot damn, it is intoxicating. A harrowing yarn about addiction, solace and pain it might just be the best song we’ve heard this month, if not, the past few months. His innate attention to detail and penchant for compelling narratives make this EP one we are beyond eager to listen to in the days and weeks ahead.

FLAX is also an award-winning TV journalist and documentary filmmaker. Yeah, he’s our kind of people. He should be your kind of people too. One listen to “Language of the Birds” and we’re certain you’ll agree.
